I left home in rain but the sun was out by the time I got to Ynyslas. Great first hour in the sun very well powered on 4m. Cross shore wind and manageable waves - head high or so. Good fun jumping on the way out - I must be getting a little better as I didn't crash so many as usual :)

A squall came through so I stopped for some lunch. The sun started to appear again and I had a good run out but the wind and waves had really picked up and I was well overpowered. I waterstarted just in front of a big wave but wasn't quick enough getting in the straps and my back foot came off while hurtling down the wave out of control resulting in the splits! After a good number of rinsings I finally got back to the beach well on the way to Aberdovey. By now it was far too much for the 4m and it was very hard work walking back up wind. Time to go home and rest.
